Autodesk Inventor 2011 Quickly Open Large Assembly Files
I had a good networking event at the Autodesk Size the Opportunity – Virtual on April 19, 2010.
Now back to Autodesk Inventor 2011, I was recently asked by my friend who is working on a commercial project in developing a digital prototype of a CNC Machine, for a CNC manufacturer from Hosur, Tamil Nadu, involving Autodesk Inventor 2011, in Bangalore. about how to load huge assembly files in Inventor, especially when working on huge assemblies on a daily basis.
So I did inform him to look at the Autodesk Inventor 2011, Application Option and move down to the tab File and select the Quick File Open, see below
What does this option do ? Let’s see . . .
Quick File Open :
You can accelerate file open times of the designated assembly by using the available cache to keep the participating files in memory.
When we click on Enable Quick File Open – We start making the system to store the files in the cache memory on the other side, UN checking we can disable storing files in the cache,
The next option is Cache the last opened assembly file, this option helps the user to open the last saved file in the cache.
The last option is Cache files of the selected assembly, this option helps the user to open a set of files from a folder saved in the computer say in D Drive.
Hope you will make use of this option to increase productivity and ensure quick opening of files every morning you go to office. Works as an handy tool when you have limited RAM in the computer.
