General Blog:

I’ve asked many people like when is the blogger’s Day celebrated across the world. So it remained to be a question which was un answered, so to some extent even by Shaan Hurley of Autodesk, who was one of the first few bloggers who started writing about Autodesk and AutoCAD and other facts.

What is BlogDay?

BlogDay was created with the belief that bloggers should have one day dedicated to getting to know other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest. On that day Bloggers will recommend other blogs to their blog visitors.
With the goal in mind, on this day every blogger will post a recommendation of 5 new blogs. This way, all blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, previously unknown blogs.

What will happen on BlogDay?

one long moment on August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post recommendations of 5 new Blogs, preferably Blogs that are different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.

BlogDay posting instructions:

Find 5 new Blogs that you find interesting

Notify the 5 bloggers that you are recommending them as part of BlogDay 2010

Write a short description of the Blogs and place a link to the recommended Blogs

Post the BlogDay Post (on August 31st) and

Add the BlogDay tag using this link:
http://technorati.com/tag/BlogDay2010and a link to the BlogDay web site athttp://www.blogday.org

Not sure if its an official organization, but let the world come to know more about it on that day

Before we move forward see how India did in all world cup

The 1983 Cricket World Cup (also known as Prudential Cup) was the third edition of the tournament. It was held from 9 June to 25 June 1983 in England and was won by India. Eight countries participated in the event. The preliminary matches were played in two groups of four teams each, and each country played the others in its group twice. The top two teams in each group qualified for the semi-finals.

The matches consisted of 60 overs per team and were played in traditional white clothing and with red balls. They were all played during the day.

The 1983 World Cup was full of dramatic cricket right from the start. Teams like India and Zimbabwe who were not playing well at those times scored upset victories over the West Indies and Australia respectively. England, Pakistan, India and tournament favorites West Indies qualified for the semifinals.

CADProfessor celebrates as India enters final beating Pakistan in the World Cup Semi Final Match :

History so far

4th March 1992, Sydney Cricket Ground (D/N)

Result: India won by 43 runs. Sachin Tendulkar adjudged the man-of-the-match.

The 1992 Benson and Hedges World Cup was special for many reasons. The dull white uniforms made way for a flurry of colors, matches were played under floodlights, balls were white and the mood was chuffed up with South Africa’s return to international cricket.

It was the third round-robin league match for India and after close misses against England and hosts Australia, and the match against Sri Lanka being washed away, India faced the daunting task of putting Imran Khan’s cornered tigers to rest.

India had dropped Ravi Shashtri and opted for Ajay Jadeja to open the innings with Krishnamachari Srikanth. The two-game-old Jadeja justified the decision with a gritty 46 and a solid partnership with Mohammed Azharuddin. But the hero of the Indian innings was Sachin Tendulkar. Another page to the epic called Sachin, who was to be immortalised later, was added that day. His knock of 54 off 62 deliveries was filled with fire and frolic. Kapil Dev added the pyrotechnics and India managed to put up a total of 216 runs with largely individual efforts.

In reply, Pakistan lost two quick wickets with 17 runs on board. But a steady Aamer Sohail and painstakingly slow Javed Miandad held the oar of the team’s sinking boat. But that was only for a while. The dismissal of Sohail off Tendulkar and an amazing display of pace bowling by Kapil, Manoj Prabhakar and Javagal Srinath ensured Pakistan surrendered in that low-scoring battle.

9th March 1996, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore (D/N)

Result: India won by 39 runs. Man-of-the-match: Navjot Sidhu.

Those were days when Indo-Pak encounters could empty streets, shut down businesses and bring buzzing city lives to a standstill. This match being the quarter-final of the World Cup, jointly hosted by these two arch rivals, only added tadka to an already fiery curry.

After winning the toss, India chose to bat and started at a steady but slow pace. Sachin contributed a useful 31 and by the time he left, the Indians were 90/1. Navjot Singh Sidhu played a gem of a knock piling up 93 runs, there were major contributions from Azharuddin and Vinod Kambli too but Jadeja’s 45 off 25 balls defined India’s batting that day.

Chasing 288 to win, Pakistan’s opening pair of Aamer Sohail and Saeed Anwar took them off to a flier. Fours and sixes came at ease and soon it was 84 on the board before Anwar departed. Aamer continued in flow until he misjudged Prasad’s docile looks and paid the price by losing his off stump.

An on-track Pakistan was derailed by Prasad, who struck two more times. Rashid Latif’s lusty hits and Miandad’s run-out later, Pakistan crumbled to what was to be their second World cup loss to India.

Outrage was on the streets back home. Effigies burnt and players denounced. Reportedly a fan shot at his television and then shot himself, unable to bear his cricket team’s loss to its neighbor-next-shore.

8th June 1999, Old Trafford, Manchester

Result: India won by 47 runs. Man-of-the-match: Venkatesh Prasad.

The crowd-puller was back again but this time the crowds of the two countries were more divided than ever before. This World Cup coincided with one of the fiercest war between India and Pakistan and so this match was an adrenaline pumper by any means.

Three arrests, nine ejections, and an Indian flag burned were mere allegories to how emotions simmered in the two plains neighboring each other.

Indian batsmen though looked unruffled by the happenings and almost soporific as, barring some early domination by Tendulkar, the team progressed at snail’s pace. Rahul Dravid made a laborious 61 while Azhar made 59 runs off 77 balls.

The Indians ended at a paltry 227 and looking at the way Anwar started, anyone would have expected Pakistan to write a new page in history. But history was too stubborn to be altered by a single willow’s sway. Javagal Srinath picked up three wickets and Prasad with 5 wickets for 27 runs turned out to be Pakistan’s devout nemesis yet again.

1st March 2003, SuperSport Park, Centurion

Result: India won by 6 wickets. Man-of-the-match: Sachin Tendulkar.

Going in to this match, India and Pakistan hadn’t played a single international match in three years time. Anticipation was in the air. Fans were like drug-addicts in forced abstinence. For cricketers, like always, this match provided a platform to get painted as a national hero.

In the pre-match press conference Rahul Dravid reportedly tried to tone down the temperature saying, “We see it as an important World Cup game. But it is like any other game of cricket, played with a bat and ball, played over 22 yards with 22 players.” Yet somewhere deep inside he too was aware of the intensity.

Pakistan started in a blazing manner with Saeed Anwar hitting a stroke-filled century followed by late flourish from Younis Khan and Rashid Latif. They piled up a competitive 273 runs in their stipulated 50 overs, giving hopes that the World Cup jinx would end here.

If not for Sachin, things would have fallen on expected lines. Perennial chokers, while chasing, the Indians started like tornado this time. The master-blaster looking in sublime touch played one of his career best knocks. His 98 off 75 deliveries along with contributions from Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif and Dravid saw the team home.

Rahul Dravid’s pre-match tranquiliser was blatantly undone by a fan who screamed to the camera, “Who cares about the rest of the games. We have already won the real World Cup.”

Big Day today for all of us. I am not concerned which way the verdict goes. I Demand that not one more innocent suffers because of this. Need to defy the expected and react to the Verdict with maturity and restraint. Let’s surprise ourselves and the world. I again pray for peace and Harmony.

The 43-inch CRVD™ Curved Display is the world’s first curved desktop monitor, offering vivid LED colors and blazing fast response time. And with a 90° field of view, it doesn’t just expand the screen — it expands your whole experience. The first curved desktop monitor

Expand your desktop.

With its roomy 2880-by-900 resolution, the CRVD will expand your desktop and give you extra space to be more productive. In fact, research has shown that wide desktops improve productivity more than 30% compared to a single monitor.

See what you’ve been missing.

The CRVD’s ultra-wide 32:10 aspect ratio is 180% wider than 16:9 displays and 240% wider than 4:3, letting you see more of what’s important.

Like having two monitors in one.

The CRVD has all the benefits of multiple monitors without all the hassles. Say goodbye to disjointed desktops, split windows, multiple input cables, and that unsightly gap between monitors

The dream of a “paperless office” is still far from reality and printers continue to be an ubiquitous part of our homes and workplaces.

Printers are still “dumb”

However, in the last few years, while mobile phones have transformed from being mere “calling devices” to “smart computers”, printers are still seen as “dumb” devices that are too dependent on the computer. That’s because you always have to install device drivers on a computer for the printer to work and second, you can only send printing jobs to a printer through a computer.

So, for example, if there’s an airline e-ticket or an Excel sheet on your BlackBerry or iPhone that you want to print on paper, you’ll have to first transfer that file to a computer before printing because printers and smartphones are still not familiar with each other. Yes, there are some apps that permit printing from mobile phones but these are again tied to the computer.

HP has recently launched a new range of consumer printers that seem to tackle this problem in a very interesting way.

The printers are web-enabled and you can just connect them to the Internet through an ethernet cable or over Wi-Fi – they work out of the box without requiring a computer and you therefore don’t have to worry about installing any device drivers.

Email is the new Print Command

Every printer is assigned a unique (and impossible-to-guess) email address – you can just send your Office documents, pictures or PDFs to this email address and the files will get printed within the next minute. Since the email message is the new Ctrl+P, you can use the printer to print stuff from any device that is capable of sending email be it a mobile phone, a gaming console, an old PDA, your Internet-enabled TV or even an iPad.

I have had a chance to play with these printers and they almost work as advertised. You send an email from your mobile phone and, assuming there’s no paper jam and that there’s enough ink in the printer, the print job is ready within the next 30-60 seconds. If your email message has multiple attachments, they’re all printed but on separate sheets.

Print Apps for your Printer

There’s more. You can download and install apps on your printer (just like a mobile phone) and these apps can pull web pages and other content directly from the Internet.

For instance, there’s an app for Google Calendar to help you print your daily or weekly calendar. Or you can get the daily news headlines using the Yahoo! News or USA Today app. The Google Maps app lets you find addresses using the virtual on-screen keyboard (it’s fairly usable) or you can even print driving directions without requiring a computer.

The Print Apps Marketplace isn’t huge yet but the company will soon provide an SDK to third-party developers and that might change the equation. All apps are currently free but there are plans to have paid apps as well where HP will split the revenue with the developer using the industry-standard 70-30 model.

The Google Docs Connection

Finally, there’s another brilliant feature in these web-enabled HP printers that’s worth a mention – you can store files to the Google Cloud directly from the printer. For instance, you can scan a document and the scanned image will get stored to your Google Docs as a searchable PDF.

Going forward, you should also be able access your Google Docs files directly on the printer though these features weren’t available at the time of writing.

You can watch the following video to understand how apps work on the printer.

Printing Web Content on Phones

There’s however one limitation with email based printing on smartphones. How do you print stuff that you cannot attach to an email message. For instance, most smartphones don’t offer you an option to save a local copy of web pages so how do you send web pages from the phone to the printer?

HP won’t comment on whether or not they are working with phone companies like Apple, HTC or RIM to bring native printing support in smartphones but until then, it will not be easy for consumers to print raw web pages directly from their phones.

That said, if you are out in the market looking to buy a new printer (or an all-in-one) that is more than just a worthy replacement for your old printer, it obviously makes more sense to go for these web-enabled printers because you get all the features of a regular printer, you can print documents and photos directly from mobile phone(s), you don’t have to turn on the PC for printing your daily dose of Sudoku and the same device can also help you go paperless once the Google Docs storage link is live.

You can visit hp.com to learn more about the various printer models that are web-enabled while the HP ePrintCenter has details about the various print apps that are available for these printers.

Hi,

Sorry friends for not posting so long, Will continue to post more this week;

I had been to Hyderabad last week for a consultancy work related to Autodesk Inventor and also accompanied my Professor.

It was particularly interesting to see the person’s statue Pingali Venkayya,

(August 2, 1876 – July 4, 1963) was the designer of the Indian national flag. He was born in Bhatlapenumarru, near Masulipatnam or the present day Machilipatnam of Andhra Pradesh, India to Hanumantharayudu and Venkataratnamma. After high school at Machlipatnam, he went to Colombo to complete his Senior Cambridge. On returning to India, he worked as a railway guard, then as a government employee at Bellary, and later moved to Lahore to join the Anglo-Vedic college to study Urdu and Japanese.

Indian Flag

It was really enjoying to see the greater Hyderabad and other places.

Cheers,
